My Future Career

Becoming a Speech Language Pathology(SLP) is not easy. It takes hard work and dedication to become one due to the competitiveness of the Major. However I know that when I do it, it will be worth it! The reward for doing becoming an SLP is changing peoples lives. As an SLP I will be able to help others with oral and speech related issues, in other words give people a voice. I can not think of something better I would rather be doing. If you want to learn more about what an SLP does click on the button below to go American Speech Language Hearing Association(ASHA) website to read more about it.

I have shadowed a SLP.

I shadowed an SLP working at a school. I  learned a lot during this experience. I learned how to document Language sessions. I knew after this I wanted to work with kids!

I have volunteered at a SLP clinic.

Volunteering at a clinic was entirely different. i saw different kids with a range of conditions from lisps to more serious speech impediments. I loved the experience and made great friends.

I Have been very involved in On Campus clubs

I have been a member of NSLA and currently a VP of Student for Smiles as mentioned above.
